About Me
I'm Ben McPherson.
I work in cybersecurity and spend the rest of my time interested in things that have nothing to do with cybersecurity — fungi, plants, game development, DIY, 3D Printing and whatever AI is getting up to lately.
I graduated in Computer Networks & Security and have built a career in the field since. Outside of that, I'm usually found doing something with my hands or my head: tinkering with a game in Godot, identifying a mushroom, or going down a rabbit hole I didn't intend to.
This site is many things: a portfolio, a notebook, a creative outlet. It's also a bit of a personal milestone. Growing up in the early 2000s, owning a domain with your own name felt like something reserved for celebrities and corporations. The idea that I'd one day have benmcpherson.uk — built by my own hands — would have seemed impossible to a younger me.
This page is something of an ode to my dad — for fostering every odd interest I ever had, and for believing I'd get here long before I did.
Have a look around. There's writing, projects, and probably a few things that don't fit neatly into a category. That feels about right.
